Higher levels offer more recovery but make the code denser and leave less room for content. Percentages refer to recoverable code data, not the area you can cover. Always test the finished code.

How to create a Telephone code

Let someone open your phone number in their dialler with a scan.

  1. Choose the country and enter the phone number, or paste a full number starting with +.
  2. Check the international number shown below the field.
  3. Generate and check the code.
  4. Download and test it on the devices your recipients use.

What to enter

Phone number
Choose a country to use a national-format number. Spaces, brackets and dashes are accepted. The international number in the code can contain up to 15 digits; extensions are not supported.

Scanning your code

A supported scanner can open the phone dialler. The device controls calling and any confirmation. We do not check whether the number is active.

Anyone with the code can read the phone number. Share personal numbers carefully.

Questions about Telephone codes

Does scanning immediately call the number?

Usually it opens the dialler or asks for confirmation. The device and app control what happens next.

Can I use spaces or an extension?

Spaces, brackets and dashes are welcome. Extensions are not supported. The complete international number is shown before you generate.

Does the generator check the number?

It checks the format, but cannot confirm that the number exists or is reachable.
